Poha (Seasoned Flattened Rice)

Step-by-step Poha (Seasoned Flattened Rice) recipe made with Mom Masale ingredients for authentic Indian flavour.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Flattened Rice (Poha)
  • 1½ tbsp Mom Masale Poha Masala (Jiravan Masala)
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup Peanuts
  • As required Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 8–10 leaves Curry Leaves

Method

  1. Wash the poha under running water and drain well. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and roast the peanuts until crisp. Remove and keep aside.
  3. In the same pan, splutter the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  4. Add the chopped onion (and green chilli, if desired) and sauté until translucent.
  5. Add the poha, roasted peanuts, and Mom Masale Poha Masala (Jiravan Masala).
  6. Mix gently, cover, and cook over low heat for 2 minutes.
  7. Serve hot.
